Nowadays, many efforts are made to free the world from corruption. Experts, associations, non-governmental organizations and civil society strive and work together in order to protect this world from the extreme devastation and the bleak future we may encounter by sensitizing the public to engage into anticorruption and transparency activities. Workshops are intended to find practical solutions rather than unvoiced ones. Awareness meetings such as international programs are intended to look for concrete actions as we can create a satisfied world with less corruption.
Indeed the everyday news we receive may stir our imagination and knowledge to see how the world operates. No one can deny the greater effort we need to reform the world and clean it from dirty hands. I would clearly state, and this is what I have personally concluded- after a long time seeking the truth, that we are living in a corrupt world. This is rationally true because no one of us could say ?I?m a good citizen and I don?t see any kind of corruption in my country?; still everyone, without exception, would entertain us with the major and serious problems his/her country faces, be it developed or developing one. In other words, corruption doesn?t leave any sphere fine and spotless.
There are hundreds of lectures and seminars on how to fight against corruption. Many research studies are assigned to probe the problematic aspects we encounter in the public and private sectors. Interested people are thinking of a way to speed up the pace to weed out corruption because everyone is fed up with the state of anarchy his/her country lives.
What is then our ideal world we are seeking and how do we want to see it?
It is unfair for us to think of a perfect world, but it is quite reasonable to seek out a satisfactory one. What really pushes us to use our minds is that we face things that don?t go with our morality. Corruption then is something we hate most but we strive to get over it. This is actually the dynamism of the world.
Life is complex and its complexity is derived from the constant emergence of troubles. This latter is excluded from the perfectness of the world, which in turn, reflects the impossibility of having a pure and fine world without corruption. So, what could create trouble which prevents us to reach a perfect world?
When we think of earning much money, we forget about values and ethics to fight against corruption. The world is based on self-interest. The structure of society itself is no longer anything more than taking from this and that to build up one?s own. Moroccan private schools for example show their superiority over the public schools by giving good marks to their students. The aim of this temptation is to peek parents? interest to the highly successful and qualified educational experience that private schools can provide, which in turn, will prompt them to pay money for their children to pursue their studies there.
Obviously, not all students are qualified enough to earn high marks. However, for the sake of gaining profit, private schools become overly generous and award undeserved high marks. Students, thus, become victims of society because as economists argue, its members strive, by any means, to boost their wealth. Greedy people don?t enhance the general interest to protect the world from corrupt practices, but they can corrupt the world to protect themselves.
