UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Family and friends of a father and his two sons killed in a boating accident on Oneida Lake earlier this summer took to the golf course on Thursday.Their goal was two-fold - to raise upward of $5,000 to help the family with unexpected expenses, but also to celebrate the lives of those they lost.
They gathered at Valley View Golf Course in Utica to remember Anthony, Timothy and Steven Aceto.
"They're a family that anyone would want to be a part of," said Event Coordinator Rob Luckina. "They're a great family and they would do anything for anyone."
The three were killed back on July 6 after the boat in which they were riding struck a buoy on Oneida Lake.
If you didn't participate in the golf tournament, but would like to donate money towards the family, you can do so by visiting the Aceto Memorial Golf Tournament website.
